Well, they didn't really change the name. But a proclamation states that the city should be referred to as "Google" for the month of march. All this in an effort to persuade Google to lure it's fiber optic network trail to Topeka. (Topeka Capital-Journal)

Because of a lawsuit brought by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. All the W's on uniforms, helmets, basketball courts, and almost everywhere it is used will change to the new Washburn logo.

I ran across this article in the Eudora News about the history of the name Blue Jacket. While doing some on-line research I ran across this page with more info about the Wakarusa River and Blue Jacket Crossing.

Well, I guess it had to happen. Arrowhead stadium will soon have another name. According to the article, to honor Lamar Hunt's wishes, "Arrowhead" will remain in the name, which will be chosen by a corporate sponsor expected to pay $5.5 million per year.

Almost a year ago, funds raised by a group of Baldwin Citizens were used to build a fountain to celebrate Baker's founding 150 years ago.
