In it's 12th year, the EudoraFest will be held again this year despite construction on Main Street.
A blind golf-cart obstacle course and softball tournament are just part of the activities. The event also celebrates Eudora's German heritage.

Six years ago Pep Solberg started Bluejacket Crossying Vineyard and Winery southwest of Eudora. Bluejacket is one of 4 wineries in the area.

This year's Leavenworth County Fair started Tuesday. A new event this year is the Mud Run on Friday evening which features trucks trying to run through a 150 foot pit of mud. Other activities include the rodeo on Wednesday and Thursday, and the demolition derby on Saturday evening.

Several local B&B's are benefiting from the economy and fuel prices. I've enjoyed staying at one of B&B's mentioned in the article, the Halcyon house, and I've stayed at several others in the general KC area.
Much cheaper than a trip to Disney World.
